What do you want of me, Lord?
As you know, we had to postpone our school Mass this month. While changes in our schedule can sometimes cause frustration as we try and meet all the demands that we are presented with daily, this was actually a beautiful gift to our school as the new date meant that we were able to join together in the Church for the feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast celebrates the day that Mary’s parents, Joachim and Anna, brought Mary to the temple at age 3. While this event cannot be proven historically, it has an important theological purpose. From the beginning of her life, Mary was dedicated to God, and she herself was more important than any temple that was ever built. God came to dwell in her and sanctified her for what would become a very important role in His plan for salvation. The magnificence of Mary enriches her descendants and therefore we, too, are temples of God, sharing in God’s saving work.

Remind App
Thank you to everyone who signed up for the Remind App to receive important reminders and announcements from the school. There was a special incentive this week for everyone who had signed up so far. Congratulations to the Scharff family for responding by email so quickly – they won a $25 gift certificate for Neat Uniforms! If you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time to do so, and you never know when another contest might be run again!

Donation Request from Grade 7
The Grade 7 class is going to be knitting items for the Migrant Farm Workers in Abbotsford and they are in need of some yarn. If you have any yarn at your house from past projects, or are able to purchase a ball or two of yarn to help with this worthwhile project, your donations can be brought to the school office this week. In addition, the Grade 7 class is also going to be making an art project that requires the metal rings from mason jars, and they need 12 – 15 per student. These metal rings can be any colour, so if you have old canning supplies that you are no longer using, and are able to donate the rings to the Grade 7 class, these can also be brought to the school office this week. The Grade 7 class appreciates your donations!

On Friday, December 7th your child will be bringing home their first term Progress Report. There have been some changes to these reports since last year, and so a letter will be going home by email to each family next week to explain these changes. Please check your email early next week to ensure that you have received this letter, and if you haven’t received it please also check your “spam” folder. If you haven’t received this email by Wednesday, November 28th, please send an email to the office by clicking here.

Thunderwear Thursday
We are happy to announce that this Thursday, November 29th, will be our first Thunderwear Thursday. Students may replace pieces of their uniform with Thunderwear items that they have. For example, if they have a Thunderwear t-shirt they may wear that instead of their school shirt OR if they have Thunderwear sweatpants they may wear these instead of their uniform pants. The more Thunderwear you have, the more uniform pieces you may replace! Please note these days are not full dress down days, so students may not wear jeans or clothing items that are neither Thunderwear or uniform pieces.
