Extreme Heat Warning
As you read in my email of June 24th, the temperatures in the Lower Mainland are forecast to soar into the high 30s or low 40s, beginning this weekend. By Monday the heat will be quite unbearable, especially in a school with no air conditioning, with a playground and field that have very little shade. Just like in the case of snow, we may need to close the school on Monday due to the extreme weather. Parents should watch for an email to come on Sunday evening letting you know what will be happening. Any school closure would also be posted on the school’s website on Sunday evening. Please note that if the school is closed, it would mean that there is no staff at the school. It would further mean that the YMCA Kids Club would not be operating that day.
If the school were to be closed on Monday, we would open for an abbreviated schedule on Tuesday to say our final goodbyes and for the students to pick up their final Progress Reports. More information about this will be included in the email that is sent on Sunday evening.

First Tuition Payment - 2021-2022
This is just a reminder that we will no longer be collecting the September tuition fees in July. Your first tuition payment will come out in September for tuition and student fees. For those families who have children in Grade 7 during the 2021-2022 school year, the $250 additional charge that covers Outdoor Education, Spirit Day as well as the Grade 7 hoodies will come out of your bank accounts at the beginning of July.

Daily Health Check
Parents are asked to complete a Daily Health Check of their children each morning before they come to school. Please assess your child for the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Chills
- Cough or worsening of chronic cough
- Shortness of breath
- Loss of sense of smell or taste
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and vomiting
If your child has one of those symptoms, excluding fever, they should stay home for 24 hours from when the symptom started. If the symptom improves, they may return to school when they feel well enough. If the symptom persists or worsens, seek a health assessment. If your child has two or more of the symptoms, or they have a fever, you should seek a health assessment for them.
