Thunder News Flash – April 13, 2024

We are happy to let you know that we will be holding Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, April 18th from 8:30am – 3:30pm at the school.  This will not be a regular school day, and students attend only for their Conference time, in their school uniform.  The link to sign up was emailed to parents earlier this week.  If you haven’t signed up for a time yet, please do so soon as the spaces are quickly filling up. School-aged siblings are encouraged to bring a book or quiet activity and they are welcome to sit outside on a chair in the hallway while they are waiting their turn. There is no child-minding available on this day.  Don’t forget to stop by the gym on this day for game of family Pickleball!

ZUMBATHON is now just 2 WEEKS AWAY!  It is sure to be a fun and exciting day filled with school spirit.  There will be a free hotdog lunch and treat after Zumba-ing, for all students, staff and families.

All students earn 1 raffle prize ticket for every $10 they raise that they can put into draws for lots of great prizes.  There will also be a $100 Indigo Gift Card prize for the student who raises the most money in the primary grades (K-3) AND the intermediate grades (4-7), as well as a special draw for a $100 Boston Pizza Gift Card that all those who raise $125+ will be entered into.  For more info check out: https://www.stjameselementary.ca/zumbathon/

EARLY BIRD: Bring your pledge sheets and monies in by Monday, April 22; 3pm for an Early Bird Prize and so we can tally up how much we have raised so far!

Together we can raise $25,000 for new playground equipment for our school!

McCarthy Uniforms is offering bundle savings to our school community.  These bundles offer an additional coupon incentive that can be used later in the year to top up the student’s uniform. These bundles also offer a 2 year and 1 year exchange policy.  These bundles will be available on the McCarthy website, in their stores and through their Call Centre beginning on Wednesday May 1st.

McCarthy encourages families to take advantage of these bundles and to shop early to avoid frustration and potential delays in the last days before school starts.  Please note that items purchased between May 1st and August 15th, 2024, can be returned, and exchanged until September 15th, 2024. Their general return/exchange policy is 30 days for items in their original condition that have not been washed, worn, or altered and still have tags attached. Any hosiery, special make items and clearance items are final sale.
