  • Remembrance Day

    “Lest We Forget.”

The act of Remembrance is one of the most important ways to honour and thank Veterans for their sacrifices.  On November 11, we pause for 2 minutes to remember, whether we are working, sitting in our living room, or standing at a national ceremony.  On November 11th, please take a moment with your family to remember and pray for all those who serve to keep us safe.  Honour those who have served and continue to serve to defend peace. Make November 11 the most unforgettable day.

  • Reminder - No School

There will be no school on Monday, November 11th for the Remembrance Day holiday.   Other upcoming ‘no school’ days include:

    • Thursday, November 21st we will be having our Parent/Teacher Interviews, and there will be no school for the students.  The sign up link for these interviews will be sent home by email.
    • Friday, November 22nd is a Professional Day for the staff.
  • Workbee

Workbees are usually scheduled on the second Saturday of each month.  However, as it is the Remembrance Day weekend, the workbee will be postponed until next Saturday.

The November Work Bee will take place at the school Saturday, November 16th, from 9am-2pm.  You may want to bring gloves for outside work. It would also be greatly appreciated if you could bring any small gardening tools, particularly a rake.  Please also bring a lunch for the mid-day break.  Thank you once again for all of your hard work to keep our school well maintained and beautiful!

All remaining Work Bee dates for this year have been uploaded to the School Calendar.

  • Community Coffee

Come join us for our next Community Coffee – Friday, November 15th!

We are thrilled to offer our second community coffee morning.  Starting right after school drop off, you are invited to join us in the gymnasium to meet other Thunder families for a morning of coffee and treats. This wonderful community building opportunity allows families to come into the school and connect with other families. Younger siblings and family members are welcome.

Our dates for the remainder of 2024 are November 29th and December 13th.
We hope to see you there!
  • School Uniform

School uniforms can  promote a sense of school unity and school spirit. Like members of a sports team, students who wear uniforms feel like they are part of one group and therefore tend to perform better and care more about their school.  It is important that students come to school dressed in their proper school uniform each day.  This includes gym strip for Grades 2-7.  Students should have gym strip and running shoes at school in a gym bag and be ready to change for gym classes.

Throughout the coming months, school staff will be paying particular attention to school uniforms.  We will be checking student uniforms, and sending home a note to inform parents if students are not wearing the proper uniform.  Please help your children wear their proper uniform with pride for our school.  Thank you!

Our school uniform policy is outlined in the St. James and St. Ann’s parent handbook.  2024-25 School Uniform Policy
