Thunder News Flash – December 3, 2022

Thank you to the many families who have already signed up to bring a gift item or food item as part of our Christmas Giving Tree.  The link to the electronic sign up was emailed to parents last week.  Our campaign will run from December 15th.  Using the same process as when we have parents sign up for conferences, you will simply select the item you would like to purchase, and if you want to select another item you simply have to add another item.  Once you have purchased your item(s), your child may bring them to the school in the morning and place them in the collection bins outside of the Library, and your child will be given an ornament to place on the Christmas tree.  Any gift cards that are purchased should be brought directly to the office by your child. 

We have 2 sets of 2 FRONT ROW tickets up for grabs to our upcoming Christmas Play.  The lucky winners can choose from the Matinee or the Evening Performance on December 15th.  It is easy to enter!  Just LIKE, FOLLOW us AND COMMENT on our upcoming posts on Facebook and / or Instagram (accessible on the bottom of our website) during the week of December 4-9.  We will announce the winners on our social media on December 10.  Good luck!

Just a reminder that during December, January and February we switch to our “winter uniform”.  No shorts or skorts are to be worn during those months, so please put those away until March!

On Monday, December 12th we encourage all students and staff to participate in a special dress down day to kick off our Christmas Spirit Week!  Come dressed as your favourite character from a Christmas movie or book.  Bring $2 to support the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

• Tuesday, December 13th – Crazy Christmas dress down day– go Christmas Crazy with your outfit. 
• Wednesday, December 14th – Senior’s Lunch 12:00 – ***STUDENTS COME TO SCHOOL IN COSTUME
• Thursday, December 15th – Christmas Musical! 1pm Matinee & 7pm show ***STUDENTS COME TO SCHOOL IN COSTUME
• Friday, December 16th – PJ day & Christmas Carols in the gym lead by the grade 7’s.  12:55 Dismissal.

The next Work Bee will take place at the school on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00am – 2:00pm.  Please bring any small, cordless gardening tools that you are able to and gloves for outside work.  Your help at the school is much appreciated.  

Please join us in the Gym for Community Coffee.  We will have coffee, treats and best of all a chance to get together in person.  Little siblings are welcome.  Hope to see you there after drop off.

Your orders for our Shopfunds Gift Cards were ready for pick-up earlier this past week.  If you were not there to pick them up, please contact the office to arrange alternate arrangements.  An adult must be present for the pick-up.  Thank you again for your support!
