St. James and St. Ann's AGM
AGM: Beans & JeansOn behalf of the St. James & St. Ann’s School Regional Education Committee, we are pleased to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on; Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the school gymnasium. Come dressed in your jeans and enjoy a bowl of homemade chili as we connect as a school community.
This meeting is mandatory, with at least one family member expected to attend.We encourage you to join us for an informative evening where we will:- Provide updates on school initiatives and upcoming events
- Review financial reports and school developments
- Distribute 2024 Family Tax Receipts

Pink Shirt Day
Why wear Pink on Feb 26?
Pink Shirt Day, held annually across Canada and the world, raises awareness about bullying and encourages individuals to stand up against hate and discrimination, while also supporting programs that foster children’s healthy self-esteem. We will be honouring Pink Shirt Day in a number of ways. -

- This is a dress down day and students are encouraged to wear an appropriate pink shirt.
- We will begin the day with an assembly, led by the Gr.2 class. Please join us at 8:45 if you are able.
- Classes will be involved in a number of activities that teach the importance of Kindness and Respect, as our faith calls us to value and respect each person’s dignity.

Grade 2 - First Reconciliation
Please pray for our Grade 2 students who will be celebrating the sacrament of First Reconciliation this Friday, Feb. 28. This is a very special day for our students!“Jesus is going to forgive all of my sins during my First Reconciliation. I am truly blessed. I am blessed, and God made me wonderfully and marvellously in his own image. Jesus wants me to become the-best-version-of-myself, grow in virtue, and live a holy life.”

Movie Night!

Join us for a magical evening as we watch FernGully: The Last Rainforest on our big 16 x 9 screen! Expect plenty of snacks, popcorn, and fun. It’s the perfect way to relax and enjoy a movie night with our amazing school community!

⏰ Time: 6:00 PM (Doors open at 5:30 PM)
📍 Location: School Gymnasium💰 Cost: $5 per person | $25 per family (5 or more)
🍕🌭 Our concession stand will have pizza, hot dogs, smokies, popcorn, candy, and more!

March 5 - Important Change
On our school Calendar – March 5th has been listed as an Early Dismissal Day. However, we have had to make a change. This is no longer an Early Dismissal day. We will have a regular school day on March 5th.

Recycling
Thank you to all parents who are dropping off your bottles and cans in support of St. James, at the Return-It Recycling Depot.
A reminder that only specific deposit items can be returned to the depot for recycling credit. It is important that we avoid any food/organics items, packaging, plastics, and non-deposit drink containers. Below is a link to a list of items that can be returned for deposit:Please be diligent in staying to this list. If we include non-deposit items or non-recyclable items in our bags, our Return-It account can be suspended.

Kitchen Upgrade
Stove Give AwayWe are upgrading some of our appliances in our gym kitchen, and are moving our old appliances out. We have an older model white General Electric stove that we are giving away. If you are interested, please email Mr. Bittante at principal@stjameselementary.ca. The stove must be taken away by Thursday, Feb. 27. Priority will be given to the first to respond.
