Sharing our Gratitude for Catholic Education – Grab and Go Coffee and Treats!

As mentioned in our last Newsflash, Feb 10-14 is a special week to celebrate and honour Catholic Education.  This year St. James and St. Ann’s school will celebrate Catholic Schools Week by thanking our parent community for their ongoing support! 

On February 11th – We have planned a special “grab and go” coffee and breakfast service for parents.  From 8:00-8:30am, our staff will be serving coffee and treats.  We will have a “to go” option set up near the drop off lane for parents dropping off their children.  Because of the cold weather, we will also have the gym open for parents who would like to stay and chat until school begins.  We will have coffee and snacks available in the gym until 8:25 and our Dance Squad will be performing!    Please join us on Feb. 11th!  – And thank you for your ongoing support of our school!

Valentine Candygrams

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we will be celebrating kindness, respect and friendship!  As such, the Grade 7 class will again be organizing a Candygram sale.  Candygrams are a unique way to show you are thinking of a special friend!

Candygrams will be sold by the Grade 7 class on February 10th and 11th. Candygrams will be sold for $1 for three candygrams. Candygrams will be sold in the front hall of the school during lunch time. Grade 7 students will be available to help to write names of friends on candygrams if needed. Proceeds will be used to support Grade 7 Outdoor Education. Thank you in advance for your support.

 Valentine’s Day

As school will be closed on Feb 13 / 14, we will be celebrating Valentine’s day on Wednesday, February 12th. 

• This will be a dress down day for students to wear their Valentine’s Day colours (red, white, and pink).  As always, the clothes that students wear must be appropriate – no ripped/torn jeans, no inappropriate slogans or graphics on their clothes, no short shorts, and no spaghetti straps.  
• If students are bringing Valentine’s Day cards to share, they must bring a card for everyone in their class 
• While we do not encourage food treats at school, if your child does want to bring a small treat for each student they should be attached to the Valentine’s Day card.  Treats should be individually packaged, and nut-free.  Cards will be distributed and collected in a bag, and all treats will be taken home so that parents can determine if the treats are able to be eaten by their child

Our hot lunch ordering system, Munch a Lunch, is OPEN for FEBRUARY/MARCH!  Ordering closes February 9th at midnight. Orders will not be accepted after this date due to ordering timelines with vendors.

2. After adding your children, click the green “Order Lunch!” button to order
3. Next time, just click the “Login Here” button to access your account.

NOTE:   Payments will be made by Electronic Funds Direct Debit from your account on the 15^th of each month.  You will see a “pay now” option at the end of the ordering process, please click pay now to submit your order but please do not submit a cheque.  Payments will be deducted, and account balances will be updated on the 15^th.
