Care for Everyone in Our Common Home
We have a new family in Kindergarten that is looking for anyone in our school community that may be available for carpooling. They live in East Abbotsford. Her name is Candice Oeffner and if you are willing or able to drive her daughter home from school please reach out to her. You can email Mr. van der Pauw at principal@stjameselementary.ca and I will provide you with her contact information.

Fun Night
What an amazing night we had on September 15th! As I am writing this Newsflash I am still a little bit cold from all the water that was dumped on me! And I am sure that same goes for some of my brave colleagues who also got water dumped on them. It was so great to see so many of our families out in support of this fundraiser. Of course this night does not happen without the hard work of many people. Our PFA worked many hours to organize this event. We had many parents step up to volunteer. And we had a lot of staff members who came out and supported the event by cooking, selling tickets, and getting water dumped on them. Overall, I am very grateful to everyone who made this event such a wonderful success!

A Word of Thanks
Mrs. Di Palma would like to thank all the children who sang for her wedding ceremony in the summer. Her and her husband are very grateful for the time and effort that Mrs. Dos Santos and Mrs. Gaudet and all the children put into practicing to make the songs so beautiful. The newly married Di Palma’s would also like to thank everyone for the kind cards, gifts, and prayers.

Lates
We have noticed that a number of students are starting to arrive after 8:30am. Children who arrive after 8:30am are considered late and they must check in with Mrs. Dlugan at the Office. If your child was at mass they too must check in with Mrs. Dlugan but they will not be considered late. Please make every effort to have your children at school for 8:15 so that they have time to get ready for the day.

The Front Hall
During school hours parents will not be allowed past our sign which is being moved closer to the office window (right by the parent bulletin board and table) for safety reasons and because some teachers will use this space to gather students or as an additional instructional space. For parents who arrive early and want to wait inside for their children we ask that you sit on one of the two black benches by the entrance doors. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
